The Making of the Bluebell Chainmaille Flower Bracelet

I know that some of you enjoy seeing the process that goes into making my jewelry. This is a not-really-tutorial that shows how I made the Bluebell Chainmaille Flower bracelet! It is inspired by the purple-blue "bluebell" flower, also known as harebells and fairy thimbles.

Rosie's Fashion Lookbook

My little sister "Rosie" helped me create a fashio video featuring my jewelry. She designed all of the outfits and picked out the jewelry herself! She also chose the song.

The video is under four minutes long; please check it out! Not only is it stinkin' cute, but if you've been eyeing anything in my Shoppe it's always nice to see it "in action" on someone.

But, mostly, watch because Rose is stinkin' cute!

Vlog

We got a new video camera that I had to try out. This one is digital!!! No more broken tapes and humming noises!

I'm rubbish in front of a camera. Please pretend that I actually bothered to fix the half-bun that fell out while I was exercising, and that I put on makeup. Please also pretend that I don't have blue acrylic paint all over my arm. (Does anyone know a good way to remove acrylics? It's been two days and soap isn't helping. It's strange.)

I'm not sure why, but if I open the video with Google Chrome, the colors are severely distorted. Let me know if the video is behaving oddly for you.

I think I've convinced myself to never again wind up in front of a camera; I probably just wasted five minutes of your life. *ears turn red* On the other hand, you got sneak peeks for some new jewelry!

I'm disappearing from the blog for about a week in order to work on Ink and Fairydust and final exams. Wish me luck!

P.S. That cute brooch on my cloche (cloches are way cooler than fezzes, tell me you get the reference!) is from Mary's shop, Snowflakes and Clockwork.

I'm having more fun destroying more books!

 (Only books that deserve it, of course. The one I cut up for this project was a Reader's Digest super-abridged story-of-the-year book that looked like it had been on the Salvation Army's shelf for many years.)

I'm also having fun teaching myself how to use Photoshop.

And I'm having fun doing stop-frame animations. Although I've worked on many little animations with my brothers, this is the first one that I've actually done to completion:

*crosses fingers and hopes that the majorly giant GIF file works on everyone's computers*

Wirewrapped Rosette Ring { Tutorial }

Have you ever wondered how to make a beautiful ring... all by yourself?

I finally edited and uploaded the long promised Ring Tutorial!

This video (6 minutes long) teaches you how to make Wirewrapped Rosette/Knot/Spiral rings.

You will need:

• pliers
• a mandrel or thick marker
• wire (copper is the easiest to work with)

Enjoy! I hope this helps you make some of your own rings! Don't worry if you don't get the hang of it right away. It takes a lot of practice.

By the way... that ring I mentioned wearing continuously for 2 weeks? I've been wearing it now for a month (in place of my purity ring, which we need to get fixed). This includes wearing it when washing hands, etc. It hasn't faded or weakened or lost it's shape.
(Update: See this same ring, 6 months later!)

My post on handmade wire rings was quite popular, so I decided to just go and fix that darn Windows Movie Maker and get the video up and running as quickly as possible!
